My wife and I rented road bikes (Giant TCR) in late September 2011. Daniele did an excellent job accomodating delivery and pick up scheduling, and the bikes were set up spot on. No sizing adjustment needed AT ALL on pick up. These were very nice bikes... we rode 60-100 miles/day. Every bit as comfortable as my own bike.

A couple of recommendations...
It would be nice if they had a secure server for deposits.
One bike had a stuck brake cable that Daniele labored over on delivery. He got it working acceptably, but he probably needs a bike function checklist before delivering.
The bikes had a compact crank and 12-25 cassette. That was a stretch for some of the hills in low gear. Consider a bigger rear cog.

I would definitely rent from Eco rent again!

We rented 4 carbone road bikes. It was such a great experience. Delivred at our Villa on time. Bike fit were as good as our own bike.
I would greatly recommand to use Ecorent.
Hint : Don't forget to asked for a GPS (Garmin 705 or 800). It will save you a couple of fights with my girlfriend!

I rented a Vespa Gts 300 for 2 weeks during September 2011. Daniele delivered the Vespa to the Firenze Airport. He was friendly and helpful. The Vespa was amazing and I had a great time exploring Tuscany. I can highly recommend EcoRent.

We rented two hybrid bikes for 2 week duration in August 2011. EcoRent was recommended to us by the villa rental company that we dealt with and we were not disappointed. The bikes were in great shape, Daniele took time to set them up properly and we had no problems. My only minor recommendations is to have a more formal confirmation process following a booking. Thanks!

I rented a Giant TCR Advanced. The bike that was delivered to me was brand new and fit perfectly. It was set up exactly to the measurements off of my bike at home. The only thing that wasn't perfect about the bike was the rear brake cable was a bit sticky.

I had some unusual circumstances that needed to be worked out ahead of time and communicating and getting questions answered via email was a challenge for me. Ecorent needs to improve their responsiveness in that regard. That said, I found the service to be very good once I was in Italy.

When searching on the internet for a reliable bike-renting company, we stumbled upon Ecorent. We rented two hybrid (brand: Gaint) bikes there this summer and we have no regrets whatsoever. The arrangements were easily made by email and when we got to Pisa, all the adjustments for our length were already made. The bikes were great, well maintained and all the equipment was included! We really enjoyed our two great weeks in Tuscany, thanks to Ecorent! We recommend everybody to rent your bike/car/vespa here!

During our holiday stay in Calsi 27.6 - 6.7.11, I rented a Giant TCR. The booking was made from home,- and the bicycle was delivered at our place in Calsi as agreed upon.
My experience with ECO-RENT was just positive and I therefore no problems in recommend them to other.

We hired a Giant carbon TCR Advanced and an aluminimum TCR Advanced to ride in the hills close to Pisa.

I was very nervous when I made the original booking, but totally delighted with the quality of the bikes and ther service I recieved. The bikes were right (I half expected the "hire car" type of service where something similar turns up), the bikes were well maintained and came with all the suplimentary equipment we might wish for (pumps, spare tubes, tools etc).

A great experienced and I have recommended ECORent already to others.

Great experience,
Rented two Giant TCR (full carbon) with full shimano ultegra for 1 week in Lucca end of July 2011. Bikes were delivered to and picked up at our residence with extra tubes and Daniele also provided during the week an additional tyre as one of them were worn out. All very good and the price is reasonable for that type of gear. I would definitely make use of Ecorent services again next time around in Lucca.

Great Expectations!
September 28, 2010, not sure Euro time
Just when you thought I'd gone forever, never to return, (you only wish) lo and behold, here I am with my first Euro post of the trip. Tuscany, Italy is the setting, San Quirco, in Callina is the location. We've been parked here for three days now, and Kristie and I are starting to get a pulse on what takes place in this part of the world. Scenery? Fantastico! Wine? Fantastico again! Food? Can't say enough about it, all at very reasonable prices. We've been over the winding roads, snapping photos at a frantic pace, and I now understand why many great formula one race car drivers are Italian. They have no fear, they will pass you at will, no matter what is coming at them, and they refuse to drive anywhere near the speed limit. I miss my Zoom, Zoom, and feel if the Mazda Speed was here I'd be able to hang with these guys, but driving a Fiat something or other over here just doesn't cut the mustard. That brings me to my story for tomorrow. You see this trip was planned with minimal input from me, actually none, which is exactly the way I like it. Surprise me! Well after a few days of being here, seeing the scenery, seeing the hills, my passion for the bike has gotten the best of me. That and the lack of 80 hours work jammed into a typical week has left a bit of a hole to fill. So today, we literally wasted a day, (Kristie is really good to me) and drove all day to get me a bike for the next three days. The criteria for selection, the same as always. It has to be nice, it has to be fast, and it has to be a Giant. Check, check, check. Everything is in place for a super day tomorrow. Some tourist stuff, some wine tasting, well maybe more than some tasting, and yes, some extreme hill climbing. Try 18% grade on for starters. That will bring out the Pantini in me if anything can. Went to the market today, bought some fresh cheese, shrimp, bread, butter and garlic. That washed down with some great red vinno this evening has tomorrow primed for great expectations. Here is one thing I have noticed and love about Italy so far. They have a great respect for family and family run businesses. The old are the wise, and the wise are in high demand. When people come into a place of business, they want to see the owner, hug the owner, kiss the owner, and hang out with the owner. Perhaps there is hope for me yet? I qualify for old, if I can just get a handle on the wise part. As far as kissing and hugging customers, I'm going to try that too when I get back, just the lady customers though. Sorry guys, I haven't become that Euro-ized yet, but give it time, who knows...lol. Well that's enough foolishness for tonight. I'm on vacation, away from work, and none of this ever happened right. Just between you and I, it's our little secret. Have a great night/day from the other side of the world. Ciau.

Mountains Of Joy

So what happened today In Tuscany. Well we started the day right with a few coffees,(our machine is meant for mere mortals, not a coffee super hero like myself, so just a few had to do) a quick walk, and then it was on the bike. Yes folks, you heard it right, "ON THE BIKE." After picking up my Giant TCR Advanced yesterday afternoon I've been anxiously awaiting to hit the Italianno roads, and today with the crystal clear blue skies, I couldn't contain myself. Have to admit my navigational skills need some polish, and created more than a bit of a rush as the ride went on. You see, I'm great at taking directions from a navigator when driving a car, but when it comes to looking at a map and riding my bike, well just lets say, there are some things I do much better. So up onto the saddle I go. Feels sort of weird, riding roads I've never seen before, with motorists that truly believe they are on a world class race track competing for their countries national pride. But as the ride went on, my confidence grew, not in my mapping ability, no not at all, because I got totally lost within fifteen minutes, but in the appreciation the Italian motorists show for cyclists. No horn blowing, no fingers out the windows, no close calls. Just total respect for the bicycle as a fellow vehicle and a superior means of transportation. Gotta love it. The 18% grade hill? It's history, actually I did it twice. Made it to the top, missed an unmarked left onto the mountain ridge, and went down the other side before realizing it. So what is one extra climb in the run of the day? No big deal right? After the ride it was a shower and then a day of exploring the countryside in search of the best red wine available to mankind. Just got back from an unbelievable eight course meal held right here at the Villa, put on by our hosts. Super meal, lots of wine, and now the day is done. Tomorrow, it's back on the Giant, for a bit longer adventure, this time a steeper hill, and most assuredly another day where I get lost on the side roads of Tuscany. In all honesty, I can think of far worse places to get lost and forget about reality for a few hours of the day, while my mind and body merge into one. Have a great day tomorrow and remember to get out and ride your bike because you can. Anything less would be uncivilized. Ciau!

Giro Win?

It's easy to see I'm finally getting into the groove again. I've actually figured out what the time is, (still don't know what day it is, but that will come with time) Sitting here tuned into the Matt Good + web site listening to his latest creation "Hornets." I like it, but that should come as no surprise to any of you who have been to this blog before. Today was by far the easiest day so far of the trip. Kristie and I went for a bike ride in the morning apres morning coffee, then hit the road in the Fiat Ferrarri (not) for hours of countryside exploring, and then the return at 4:30 p.m. or so to get me back on the Giant TCR Advanced and climbing some hills. Oops almost forgot, while out for our morning ride, Kristie and I saw the fish truck in a nearby local village. We saw one at the local market the other day where we picked up some unbelievable shrimp, so it was back for more again today. The truck was white inside and out, pristene white, spotless to the nth degree and then some. The fish, it smells like the sea, not like old fish you tend to smell at most of our Nova Scotia fish markets. Amazing! The fish glistens with freshness, and screams out "buy me." So for supper tonight, fresh fish, fresh shrimp, fresh pasta and pesto. The in house meal was amazing, as all our food has been during the trip. Where was I? Yes, best day to date, and the reasons why. Driving, I'm finally getting it, lean into the turns of the road just like on the bike, do at least twice the speed limit, never use the brake, and when in doubt, accelerate, and all will be well. Picked up and Italia team kit today at a local shop, wore it on this afternoons ride, and as all of you already know, when you look pro, you feel and perform pro. Not only did my long gone missing climbing legs come back to me, but my joy for going fast could not be concealed from the public any longer. While screaming along the top of the mountain we are perched on, I passed numerous folks out for their daily walk. Some with strollers, some with canes, all of different ages. But as they saw me coming, they looked up and smiled, because what they saw coming at them was one skinny, white haired cyclist, well past his prime, with a grin on his face from ear to ear flying down the road, with visions of a Giro win as the reward for his superhuman efforts of the day. Folks, please don't pinch me, I don't want to wake up yet...

I found out about ECO-RENT by Internet research. About web site the information is great and the ease of navigation was one of the reasons we decided to rent through ECO Rent. Regarding website suggestions, I would update the dates on all your PDFs, price sheets and etc. Our rental experience was quite easy and efficient. Bike delivery was perfect and on time, bikes were a perfect match for the terrain (we book Self Guided Bike tour), sturdy and in great shape, about bike fitting by the bike ECO-RENT Daniele were great making sure we were comfortable.
Daniele, we continue to recommend your services. It was truly the best part of my trip to Italy last year.

I rented a Vespa GTS 300 from Danielle. He met us at Pisa airport and we rode down to the Island of Elba which hosts a great annual scooter rally. We had the bike a week, it was brand new and was a delight. We rode up to Luca and in total did 1000 k on it. Danielle was a joy to deal with and I will be using him again.

We were looking for high end road bikes for our cycling trip in Tuscany and Daniele and Ecorent did not let us down. From arranging different pick up and drop off points to providing all the additional kit we could not bring with us the service was excellent. I would highly reccommend Eco rent and will be hiring bikes from the again.

I found it from searching on google and my rental experience was very good. Nice Giant road bikes, everything worked perfect all the time, but it took long time to get feedback from Daniele whether had available bikes or not. Besides wery good was bikes adjustment and ECO-RENT staff.

My wife Caitlin and I rented bikes from Danielle for our honeymoon. We were especially wanting high end road bikes, and what Danielle provided us was exactly what we were looking for. The bikes were in excellent condition, they road very well, and Danielle was extremely accommodating and professional throughout. I would highly recommend Ecorent.
